A new 412,000 square foot 9-story hospital with 200 beds and a 127,000 square foot, 5-story medical office building. The facility a full-service hospital will feature a new surgical and endoscopy suite, a state-of-the-art imaging technology and more intensive care beds.
Russo’s approach was to work the site in separate areas with multiple rigs and crews to expedite the foundation schedule during rainy fall/winter months.
Russo’s solution was to utilize data from (2) load test bearing in dolomite and limestone to reduce the size and volume of shafts for the project. (1) load test included a rock socket and the other bared on top of competent rock to get ultimate values for end bearing, side shear, and skin friction.
The positive results gained from the load test reduced the diameter and rock socket lengths on 50% of the project.
