Warrior Met Coal contacted us to assist with blasting for an access road to their new barge load-out and pad on the Warrior River.
Russo Corporation’s in-house blasting experts developed the blasting plans for wall stabilization and rock breakage to achieve the desired results. After calculating the total quantity of rock to be blasted, they identified approximately 3,500 to 4,000 square feet of pre-split wall and 35,000 to 40,000 cubic yards of mass rock. Using in-house equipment, Furukawa top-hammer rock drills were used to drill 4-inch blast holes.
We used our drone technology to record all the blasts and evaluate whether the desired results were achieved.
Shout-out to Nelson Brothers, Sauls Seismic, and Warrior Environmental Mining Services for their support in making this project a success.
